Straighter Teeth in Three Months. No Wires, No Brackets, No One Needs to Know.
Not everyone who wants straighter teeth has a complex case. For a significant number of adults, the concerns are relatively minor. A small amount of crowding at the front. A tiny gap that has always bothered them. Teeth that have drifted slightly since their teenage years. Issues that are real and noticeable to the person living with them, but that do not require months and months of orthodontic treatment to address.
Invisalign i7 was designed for exactly this group of patients. It is the most targeted and time-efficient option in the Invisalign range, using just seven aligners per arch to make precise, controlled corrections to specific teeth. Treatment can be completed in as little as three months, making it comfortably the fastest clear aligner option available.
The aligners are made from the same clear medical-grade plastic as the rest of the Invisalign system. They are virtually invisible when worn. Most patients find that colleagues, friends, and family do not notice them at all unless told. They are removed for eating, drinking, and cleaning, meaning no restrictions on diet and no compromise on oral hygiene.
At Heritage Smile Group, all Invisalign treatment including i7 is led personally by Dr Natasja Kashyap at both our Wilmslow and Northwich practices. We are a Platinum Invisalign provider, reflecting the volume and breadth of cases our clinicians have successfully treated. Dr Natasja manages every case from the initial 3D scan through to retainer fitting.
How Invisalign i7 Works
Invisalign i7 uses the same core technology as the broader Invisalign system. A 3D digital scan of your teeth is taken, the full treatment is planned digitally in advance, and a series of custom-made clear aligners is manufactured specifically for your teeth. You wear each aligner for one to two weeks before moving to the next, with each step making a small, precise adjustment to the position of specific teeth.
The difference between i7 and the other Invisalign options is the number of aligners. Invisalign i7 is capped at seven aligners per arch, which means it is designed for cases where the amount of tooth movement required is small and targeted. It is not a simplified or lesser version of the system. It is the right tool for the right type of case, and for patients with minor concerns it produces the same quality of result as a longer course delivers for a more complex one.
Treatment is typically completed in as little as three months with consistent wear of 20 to 22 hours per day. Review appointments are scheduled every six to eight weeks and are short because there are no wires or brackets to adjust.
Invisalign i7 Is Well Suited to Patients Who Have
Minor Crowding on the Front Teeth
Small amounts of crowding where the front teeth overlap slightly or sit slightly out of line are exactly the kind of targeted concern that Invisalign i7 addresses well. Seven aligners is often more than sufficient to create the small amount of space needed and reposition the teeth correctly.
A Small Gap Between Specific Teeth
A minor gap between two teeth, particularly at the front of the upper or lower arch, is one of the most common presentations for Invisalign i7. The aligners gradually move the adjacent teeth together to close the gap in a controlled and predictable way over the course of the treatment.
Teeth That Have Drifted Slightly Since Previous Orthodontic Treatment
Adults whose teeth were straightened in their teens and who have since stopped wearing their retainer sometimes find that a small degree of drift has occurred. Where that drift is minor, Invisalign i7 is often all that is needed to restore the alignment to something close to the original result.
Minor Cosmetic Alignment Concerns Before Composite Bonding
For patients who are planning composite bonding and want to first address a small alignment irregularity that would affect the quality of the bonding result, Invisalign i7 offers a fast, efficient preparation stage that adds just three months to the overall plan.
When i7 Is Not the Right Option
Invisalign i7 is designed specifically for minor cases. It is not suitable for moderate to complex alignment concerns, significant crowding, bite corrections, or cases where the amount of tooth movement required exceeds what seven aligners per arch can achieve.
If your case falls outside this range, Invisalign Lite or Invisalign Full will be the more appropriate recommendation. Dr Natasja will always assess your case honestly and recommend the right option for your individual situation at your smile assessment. She will never recommend i7 for a case that needs more aligners simply because it is the fastest or least expensive option, because a treatment that does not fully achieve the planned result is not a good outcome for anyone.
If you are unsure whether your concerns are minor enough for i7 or whether you need a longer course, the only reliable way to find out is a clinical assessment. Many patients who expect to need Lite or Full find their case is comfortably within the i7 range. Others find the reverse. The assessment resolves that question clearly.

- What to Expect
Your Invisalign i7 Journey, Step by Step
Free Smile Assessment
Your journey begins with a free, no-obligation smile assessment with Dr Natasja. She will examine your teeth, discuss your specific alignment concerns, and give you her honest assessment of whether Invisalign i7 is the right fit. If your concerns are minor enough for i7, she will confirm this clearly. If a longer course would serve you better, she will explain why. There is no commitment at this stage.
3D Digital Scan
If you decide to proceed, a full clinical examination is carried out and a 3D digital scan of your teeth is taken. There are no messy impressions. The scan is submitted to Invisalign who plan the full sequence of movements and manufacture your seven custom aligners per arch.
ClinCheck Treatment Plan Review
Before your aligners are made, you will review your ClinCheck, the digital simulation of your planned tooth movements from start to finish. Dr Natasja discusses the plan with you, answers your questions, and confirms everything is ready to proceed.
Aligner Collection
Your aligners are typically ready within one to two weeks of your scan. At your collection appointment, Dr Natasja shows you how to insert and remove the aligners, explains the wear schedule, and walks you through everything you need to know before you begin.
Treatment Progress
You wear each aligner for one to two weeks before progressing to the next. With consistent wear of 20 to 22 hours per day, most i7 patients complete their treatment within the three-month window. A review appointment typically takes place mid-treatment to confirm your teeth are tracking as planned.
Retainers
Once your treatment is complete and Dr Natasja has confirmed your result, retainers are made to hold your teeth in their new positions. Retainer wear after any teeth straightening treatment, including i7, is essential to maintain the result long term.

- Frequently Asked Questions
Questions Patients Ask About Invisalign i7
How is Invisalign i7 different from Invisalign Lite and Full?
Invisalign i7 is capped at seven aligners per arch and is designed for very minor corrections. Invisalign Lite uses up to 14 aligners per arch and covers minor to moderate cases. Invisalign Full uses an unlimited number of aligners for moderate to complex cases. The right option depends on the amount of tooth movement your individual case requires, which Dr Natasja assesses at your free smile assessment.
Will seven aligners be enough to fix my teeth?
For the right type of case, yes. Seven aligners per arch is sufficient for minor corrections including small amounts of crowding, minor gaps, and teeth that have drifted slightly. Whether your case falls within this range is something only a clinical assessment can confirm. Dr Natasja will tell you clearly whether i7 is sufficient or whether you need more aligners.
How long does each aligner need to be worn?
Each aligner should be worn for one to two weeks before moving to the next. The aligners should be worn for 20 to 22 hours per day, removed only for eating, drinking anything other than water, and brushing and flossing. Consistent wear is the most important factor in completing treatment within the expected timeframe.
Can Invisalign i7 be upgraded to Lite or Full if needed?
Yes. If during treatment it becomes clear that more movements are required than the i7 plan allows, the case can be upgraded to Invisalign Lite or Full with additional aligners. Dr Natasja will discuss this with you openly if it becomes relevant and will explain what is involved before any changes are made to your plan.
Is a retainer needed after Invisalign i7?
Yes. Retainers are essential after all teeth straightening treatment including i7. Without retainer wear, the teeth have a natural tendency to drift back towards their original positions. We offer Vivera retainers at Heritage Smile Group, which are made by Invisalign and are significantly more durable than standard clear retainers.
Can I have Invisalign i7 if my concerns are purely cosmetic rather than functional?
Yes. Many patients who have Invisalign i7 do so purely for cosmetic reasons, to address a minor alignment issue that affects how their smile looks rather than how their bite functions. This is a completely valid reason to have orthodontic treatment and one of the most common motivations for i7 specifically.
What if I lose one of my i7 aligners?
Contact the practice as soon as possible. In most cases you can move to the next aligner in the series or step back to the previous one while a replacement is arranged. With only seven aligners in the series, losing one is worth addressing quickly. Replacement aligners can be ordered from Invisalign and are usually available within a week or two.
