The Simplest Way to Stay on Top of Your Dental Health
Most people intend to go to the dentist regularly. Life gets busy, appointments get pushed back, and before long six months has turned into eighteen and the check-up that should have been routine has become something slightly more pressing.
It is not a lack of care that causes this. It is the nature of pay-as-you-go dental care. When there is no appointment in the diary and no financial commitment already made, it is always easy to leave it a little longer.
A practice plan changes that dynamic entirely. Your routine appointments are included in a fixed monthly fee that is taken automatically. You are financially committed to your care before the year begins, which means you are significantly more likely to attend, and more likely to attend consistently, year after year.
The difference that consistent, regular care makes to long-term oral health is not a small one. Dental problems that are caught early are almost always simpler and less costly to treat than problems left to develop. Gum disease identified at an early check-up is reversible. Gum disease left for two years becomes a much more complex clinical picture. Decay caught at a routine appointment requires a filling. Decay left unnoticed may eventually require a root canal or extraction.
Preventative dentistry is not just better for your health. Over time it is significantly less expensive than the alternative. The practice plan is how we help our patients stay consistent.
Sign Up on the Day of Your New Patient Exam and We Waive the Exam Fee
If you book a new patient examination and sign up to the practice plan on the same day, we will waive the new patient examination fee entirely.
The new patient examination costs £85 as a standalone appointment. If you join the practice plan at that visit, there is no charge. It is our way of making it as easy as possible to start your care with us on the right footing.
Three Plans to Suit Your Needs
We have three adult plans and a children’s plan. The right plan for you depends on your current oral health and how much hygiene support your mouth needs. If you are unsure which plan to choose, book a new patient examination first and discuss your needs with the clinician, who will make a recommendation based on what they find.
BAND A
For patients with good oral health who need a reliable annual routine.
£13.00 per month
What’s included:
- 1 Dental Check-up per year (inclusive of x-rays)
- 1 Hygienist Appointment per year
- 5% discount on routine treatments
- Worldwide dental assistance, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year
Band A is well suited to patients with a healthy mouth, low decay risk, and good home care who want to keep everything on track with a single annual check-up and clean, without the cost of more frequent visits.
BAND B
For patients who benefit from twice-yearly care, the recommended standard for most adults.
£25.00 per month
What’s included:
- 2 Dental Check-ups per year (inclusive of x-rays)
- 2 Hygienist Appointments per year
- 5% discount on routine treatments
- Worldwide dental assistance, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year
Band B follows the standard recommended dental care schedule of two check-ups and two hygiene appointments per year. It is the most popular plan and suits the majority of adults who want to maintain good oral health with consistent, twice-yearly professional care.
BAND C
For patients who need more frequent hygiene care, including those with a history of gum disease.
£39.00 per month
What’s included:
- 2 Dental Check-ups per year (inclusive of x-rays)

- Worldwide dental assistance, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year
Band C is designed for patients who benefit from more frequent professional cleaning. This includes patients with a history of gum disease, those who are more susceptible to plaque accumulation, implant patients who need regular monitoring, and anyone whose clinician has recommended three to four monthly hygiene intervals.
CHILDREN'S PLAN
Consistent dental care for children from an early age.
£5.50 per month
What’s included:
- 2 Dental Check-ups per year
Starting children with regular dental visits from an early age builds good habits, keeps small problems from becoming bigger ones, and makes the dentist a familiar and unthreatening part of life rather than a source of anxiety. The children’s plan makes consistent care straightforward and affordable.

Understanding What Your Plan Includes
- Dental Check-ups and X-Rays
Your plan includes either one or two dental check-up appointments per year depending on your band, with x-rays included as standard. Each check-up covers a full clinical examination of your teeth and gums, an oral cancer screen, and a clinical assessment of the health of any existing restorations, implants, or other dental work.
X-rays are included with each check-up rather than charged separately, giving you a clear picture of your oral health without additional cost.

- Hygienist Appointments
Your plan includes between one and four professional hygiene appointments per year depending on your band. Each appointment involves a thorough clinical assessment of your gum health, professional scaling to remove calculus and tartar deposits, stain removal and polish, and personalised home care advice.
Regular hygiene appointments are the most effective preventative investment available for long-term oral health. They remove the deposits that brushing cannot reach, identify early gum disease before it progresses, and keep your smile looking its best between check-ups.

- 5% Discount on Routine Treatments
Plan members receive a 5% discount on routine dental treatments. This discount applies across the range of routine treatments carried out at Heritage Smile Group and represents a meaningful saving for patients who have occasional work carried out alongside their routine appointments.
The discount does not apply to laboratory-made items such as crowns, veneers, or appliances, or to treatments that are already offered at a fixed consultation fee. The clinical team will confirm which treatments qualify for the discount when treatment is being planned.
Worldwide Dental Assistance
Every adult practice plan member is covered by a worldwide dental assistance programme that provides access to emergency dental care support 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. This is particularly valuable when travelling, where access to a trusted dental practice is not always straightforward.
Cover includes emergency dental pain relief, lost or broken restorations, dental trauma, and dental-related swelling wherever you are in the world. Full details of the worldwide assistance programme are provided when you join the plan.
Why We Believe in Preventative Dentistry
At Heritage Smile Group, preventative dentistry is not something we talk about because it is good for business. It is something we talk about because it is genuinely better for patients.
The clinical reality of dental disease is straightforward. Problems that are caught early are almost always easier, quicker, and less expensive to treat than problems that are left to develop. Gum disease in its gingivitis stage is fully reversible with professional cleaning and improved home care. Left unaddressed for years it progresses into periodontitis, affecting the bone, potentially affecting the teeth, and requiring a much more involved programme of treatment to manage.
Decay in its early stage can sometimes be managed without a filling at all. Left until it reaches the nerve, it requires root canal treatment. Left until the tooth is no longer restorable, it requires extraction and then a decision about replacement.
None of this is inevitable with consistent care. Regular check-ups catch problems at their most manageable stage. Regular hygiene appointments keep gum disease at bay. The practice plan is the mechanism that makes consistent care the path of least resistance.
Pay-as-you-go dental care works well for patients who are highly motivated to attend regularly. For the majority of patients, the combination of a standing monthly commitment and pre-booked appointments is simply more reliable, and more reliable attendance produces better long-term outcomes.

- Terms and Conditions
A Few Things Worth Knowing
The plan covers routine preventative care only. It does not cover the cost of restorative treatment such as fillings, crowns, or extractions. The 5% discount applies to eligible routine treatments but the plan itself is not an insurance product and does not cover the cost of treatment beyond the included appointments.
Included appointments must be used within the plan year. Appointments that are not used within the 12-month plan period do not roll over to the following year.
The plan is a 12-month commitment. Monthly payments are collected by direct debit over 12 months. The plan renews annually. If you wish to cancel before the end of your 12-month plan, please speak to the team. Please note that any remaining monthly payments for the plan year may still be due on cancellation.
The worldwide assistance programme is provided by a third party. Full terms and conditions of the worldwide assistance cover are provided when you join the plan.
If you have any questions about the plan terms, the team at either practice will be glad to answer them before you sign up.
- Patient Testimonial
What Practice Plan Members Say
“I used to go to the dentist whenever something needed doing rather than regularly. Since joining the practice plan I have had consistent check-ups and hygiene appointments and my gum health has genuinely improved. I also feel less anxious about going because it is just a normal part of my routine now rather than something I dread.”
