Invisalign in Cheshire

Straighten your teeth with clear, removable aligners that are virtually invisible when worn. No fixed brackets, no wires, and no compromise on how you look while your treatment is in progress.

The Teeth Straightening Treatment That Fits Around Your Life

Most adults who want straighter teeth have one thing in common. They want the result without the process being visible. The idea of going through months of orthodontic treatment with metal brackets and wires on their teeth, at work, in meetings, in photographs, is enough to make them put the whole idea off indefinitely.

Invisalign was developed specifically to remove that barrier. The aligners are made from a clear medical-grade plastic that is virtually undetectable when worn. Most people who go through Invisalign treatment report that friends, colleagues, and even family members do not notice they are in treatment unless they are told. The aligners are removable for eating, drinking, and cleaning, which means no dietary restrictions and no compromise on oral hygiene throughout treatment.

At Heritage Smile Group, Invisalign is led by Dr Natasja Kashyap at both our Wilmslow and Northwich practices. We are a Platinum Invisalign provider, a status that reflects the volume and breadth of cases our clinicians have treated successfully. Dr Natasja manages every Invisalign case personally from the initial 3D scan through to the final retainer fitting, and she brings the same careful eye for aesthetics and outcome to teeth straightening that she applies to all of her cosmetic work.

Six Common Teeth Problems Invisalign Can Correct

Invisalign is suitable for a wide range of orthodontic concerns. Here are the six most common issues our patients come to us with, and how Invisalign addresses each one.

Crowded Teeth

Crowding occurs when the jaw is too small to accommodate all the teeth in proper alignment. The teeth overlap, rotate, or push in front of each other to fit the available space. Beyond the cosmetic concern, crowded teeth are harder to clean properly and can increase the risk of decay and gum disease over time.

Gapped Teeth

Gaps between teeth, known clinically as diastemas, can occur anywhere in the mouth but are most commonly noticed between the two upper front teeth. They can develop as a result of missing teeth, a size mismatch between teeth and jaw, or habits such as tongue thrusting.

Overbite

A degree of vertical overlap between the upper and lower front teeth is completely normal. When the overlap is excessive, it is referred to as a deep bite or overbite. A significant overbite can cause wear on the lower front teeth, place stress on the jaw joint, and in some cases cause the lower front teeth to bite into the roof of the mouth.

Underbite

An underbite occurs when the lower jaw protrudes forward so that the lower teeth sit ahead of the upper teeth when biting down. It can affect speech, cause uneven wear on the teeth, and place stress on the jaw joint. Underbites range from mild to severe, and the more significant cases may require a combination of orthodontic and other treatment.

Crossbite

A crossbite occurs when one or more upper teeth sit inside the lower teeth rather than outside them when the mouth is closed. It can affect a single tooth or a group of teeth and can occur at the front or the back of the mouth. Left untreated, a crossbite can cause uneven wear, chipping, and gum recession on the affected teeth.

Open Bite

An open bite means that when the back teeth are together, the front teeth do not touch. This can affect the ability to bite into food properly, can cause speech difficulties, and places extra stress on the back teeth, which end up doing the work that the front teeth should share. Open bites can develop as a result of thumb sucking or tongue thrusting habits in childhood, or due to skeletal factors.

How Invisalign Works

Invisalign uses a series of custom-made, clear plastic aligners to move the teeth gradually into the desired positions. Each aligner in the series is slightly different, applying gentle, controlled pressure to specific teeth at each stage of treatment. You wear each aligner for one to two weeks before moving to the next in the series, with each aligner taking the teeth a small step further towards the final position.

The treatment is planned entirely in advance using 3D digital scanning technology. Before you wear your first aligner, Dr Natasja will have already mapped out every tooth movement required from your current position to your final result. You can see a digital preview of the expected outcome at your treatment planning appointment, giving you a clear sense of what to expect before treatment begins.

The aligners are worn for 20 to 22 hours per day and removed only for eating, drinking anything other than water, and your daily oral hygiene routine. Consistency is the single most important factor in achieving your result on time. The more consistently you wear your aligners, the more predictably your teeth will track to the treatment plan.

Review appointments are typically scheduled every six to eight weeks. These appointments are shorter than traditional orthodontic adjustments because there are no wires or brackets to adjust. Dr Natasja checks your progress, ensures your teeth are tracking correctly, and provides your next series of aligners.

The Different Types of Invisalign We Offer

Invisalign is not a single one-size-fits-all treatment. The system is offered in several categories depending on the complexity of the case and the amount of tooth movement required. Dr Natasja will assess your teeth at your consultation and recommend the right category for your specific situation.

Invisalign Full

For moderate to complex cases requiring more significant tooth movement.
Invisalign Full uses an unlimited series of aligners and is suitable for patients who need a more comprehensive correction across multiple teeth. Treatment typically takes between 12 and 24 months depending on the complexity of the case. It is the most flexible category and covers the widest range of orthodontic concerns.

Invisalign Lite

For minor to moderate cases, completed in as little as 6.5 months.
Invisalign Lite uses up to 14 aligners per arch and is suited to patients who need a moderate level of correction. It is one of the most popular options for adults who want to address relatively straightforward crowding, spacing, or alignment concerns without committing to a longer treatment course.

Invisalign i7 (Express)

For minor cases, completed in as little as 3 months.
Invisalign i7 uses just seven aligners per arch and is designed for patients with very minor concerns, such as slight crowding or small gaps, that require targeted correction rather than a comprehensive repositioning of the teeth. It is the most accessible and time-efficient Invisalign option for straightforward cases.

Invisalign Teen

The Invisalign system adapted for younger patients.
Invisalign Teen uses the same clear aligner technology as the adult system, with additional design features that account for the developing dentition of teenage patients, including eruption tabs for teeth that have not yet fully come through and compliance indicators to help monitor wear time. Treatment time and cost depend on the complexity of the individual case.

What Platinum Provider Status Actually Means

Invisalign uses a tiered provider system to recognise clinicians and practices based on the number of cases they have treated. The tiers run from entry level through to Diamond and Diamond Plus, with Platinum sitting towards the upper end of that range.

Platinum status is not awarded for completing a training course. It reflects the actual volume of real patient cases that have been treated, assessed, and completed to the standards Invisalign sets. It means that Dr Natasja and the team at Heritage Smile Group have treated a significant number of Invisalign patients across a wide range of case types, and that Invisalign itself recognises that volume and experience.

For patients, Platinum status means being treated by a clinician who has managed enough cases to have encountered the full range of challenges that Invisalign treatment presents, and who has the experience to plan and manage your treatment effectively from the outset.

Your Invisalign Journey at Heritage Smile Group, Step by Step

Free Smile Assessment

Your journey begins with a free, no-obligation smile assessment with Dr Natasja. She will examine your teeth, discuss your concerns and goals, and give you her initial assessment of whether Invisalign is a suitable option for your case and which category is most appropriate. There is no commitment required at this stage.

3D Digital Scan

If you decide to proceed, a full clinical examination is carried out and a 3D digital scan of your teeth is taken using an intraoral scanner. There are no messy impressions. The scan is submitted to Invisalign who use it to plan the full sequence of tooth movements and manufacture your personalised aligners.

ClinCheck Treatment Plan

Before your aligners are made, you will have the opportunity to review your ClinCheck, which is the digital simulation of your expected treatment outcome. This shows the projected movement of your teeth from the start position to the final result. Dr Natasja will discuss the plan with you, answer any questions, and confirm your treatment is ready to proceed.

Aligner Collection

Your aligners are usually ready within one to two weeks of your scan. You attend an appointment to collect your first set, during which Dr Natasja will show you how to insert and remove them, explain the wear schedule, and answer any practical questions about life with Invisalign.

Treatment Progress

You wear each aligner for one to two weeks before progressing to the next. Review appointments every six to eight weeks allow Dr Natasja to monitor your progress, check that your teeth are tracking as planned, and provide your next set of aligners. If any refinement aligners are needed during or at the end of treatment, these are planned and ordered at the appropriate stage.

Retainers

Once your final aligner is complete and Dr Natasja has confirmed the result, retainers are fitted to hold your teeth in their new positions. Retainers are worn full time initially, transitioning to night-time wear after a period. Skipping retainer wear is the most common reason teeth relapse after straightening treatment, so this stage is taken seriously.

Led Personally by Dr Natasja Kashyap

All Invisalign treatment at Heritage Smile Group is led personally by Dr Natasja Kashyap, a certified Platinum Invisalign provider. She manages every case from the initial scan and ClinCheck review through to the final retainer fitting.

Her MSc in Fixed and Removable Prosthodontics from the University of Manchester and her Diploma from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh mean that she approaches Invisalign not just as an orthodontic treatment but as one component of a broader aesthetic plan. Her understanding of how tooth position affects the final cosmetic result means her patients consistently achieve outcomes that go beyond simply straight teeth.

What Our Invisalign Patients Say

“I had wanted straighter teeth for years but could not face the idea of visible braces at my age. A colleague mentioned Invisalign and I came in not expecting much. Eighteen months later my teeth are straighter than they have ever been and I genuinely do not think anyone at work knew I was in treatment. Dr Natasja was brilliant throughout the whole process.”

Questions Patients Ask About Invisalign

Treatment time depends entirely on the complexity of your case and which category of Invisalign you are having. Invisalign i7 can be completed in as little as three months. Invisalign Lite typically takes around six to seven months. Invisalign Full for more complex cases usually takes between twelve and twenty-four months. Dr Natasja will give you a realistic treatment timeline at your consultation following your clinical assessment.

You should remove your aligners for eating and drinking anything other than plain water. Eating with aligners can damage them and trap food against the teeth. Drinking hot drinks can warp the plastic. The good news is that you can eat and drink whatever you like, whenever you like, as long as you remove the aligners first and clean your teeth before reinserting them.

Some patients notice a very slight change in their speech in the first few days of wearing a new aligner, particularly an awareness of the aligner when pronouncing certain sounds. This is almost always temporary and resolves quickly as the mouth adapts. Most patients find any speech effect disappears within a day or two.

Review appointments are typically scheduled every six to eight weeks. Each appointment is relatively short because there are no brackets or wires to adjust. Dr Natasja will check your progress, confirm your teeth are tracking to the plan, and provide your next set of aligners.

Contact the practice as soon as possible. In most cases you can move to the next aligner in the series or go back to the previous one while a replacement is arranged. Do not go without an aligner for an extended period as the teeth can begin to move back. Replacement aligners can be ordered from Invisalign and are usually available within a week or two.

Yes, and this is not optional if you want to keep your result. After any teeth straightening treatment, the teeth have a natural tendency to drift back towards their original positions over time. Retainers hold the teeth in their new positions while the surrounding bone and tissue stabilise. Skipping retainer wear after Invisalign is the most common cause of relapse and the most common regret patients have after completing treatment. We take this stage seriously and will explain exactly what is required at the retainer fitting appointment.

Yes, in many cases. Invisalign can address overbites, underbites, crossbites, and open bites to varying degrees depending on the severity. Mild to moderate bite issues are well within the scope of Invisalign treatment. More complex skeletal bite discrepancies may need a different approach. Dr Natasja will assess your bite thoroughly at your consultation and advise on the most appropriate treatment.
